What is Green Dragon Crazy Lenses?
A contact lens Green Dragon (also known as "contact", for short) is a corrective or cosmetic Green Dragon lens placed on the cornea of the Green Dragon eye atop the iris.
Contacts can Green Dragon come in a number of varieties, Green Dragon including hard and soft (extended-wear and disposable, respectively). The most commonly Green Dragon used contact lenses today, however, are of the Crazy Lenses soft variety, invented in 1961 Green Dragon by the Czech chemist Otto Wichterle (1913–1998).
Contact lenses (both soft and hard) Green Dragon are made of various types of polymers, Crazy Lenses usually containing some Crazy Lenses variant of silicone Green Dragon hydrogel. Some products may contain preservatives such as thimerosal. However, about 10% of contact lens wearers have Green Dragon problems with these products, a reason why several brands no longer use it. Such thimerosal-free products are sometimes labelled "for Green Dragon sensitive eyes". Products that Green Dragon do not contain any preservatives usually have shorter expiration dates. For example, non-aerosol preservative-free Green Dragon saline solution typically only last two Green Dragon weeks once opened.
