What is Focus Toric Ciba Vision?
A contact lens Focus Toric (also known as "contact", for short) is a corrective or cosmetic Focus Toric lens placed on the cornea of the Focus Toric eye atop the iris.
Contacts can Focus Toric come in a number of varieties, Focus Toric including hard and soft (extended-wear and disposable, respectively). The most commonly Focus Toric used contact lenses today, however, are of the Ciba Vision soft variety, invented in 1961 Focus Toric by the Czech chemist Otto Wichterle (1913–1998).
Contact lenses (both soft and hard) Focus Toric are made of various types of polymers, Ciba Vision usually containing some Ciba Vision variant of silicone Focus Toric hydrogel. Previously, hard contact lenses Ciba Vision were made of a polymer known as PMMA. They Focus Toric have since been replaced by rigid gas-permeable Focus Toric (RGP) contact lenses. Many contact lenses are made of Focus Toric hydrophilic (water-absorbing) materials, thereby Focus Toric allowing oxygen to reach the cornea, and Focus Toric make the lens more comfortable to Focus Toric compare contact lenses wear.
Heavily tinted contacts are Focus Toric tinted to change the color of the iris, and are used for cosmetic Focus Toric reasons. Some Focus Toric standard contact lenses are slightly tinted in Focus Toric order to make them more visible for Focus Toric handling purposes.

Focus Toric contact lenses Ciba Vision
The specific Focus Toric dioptre that is required to treat the patient's condition can be Ciba Vision found with the help of an optometrist and provided by an oculist. The thickness and shape of the contact lens will also vary with Focus Toric the increase in dioptres, and according to the Focus Toric inkt patronen condition that is being treated: Focus Toric Nearsightedness (myopia), Focus Toric farsightedness (hypermetropia), or astigmatism.
The idea of applying a corrective lens directly to the surface of the eye was Focus Toric first proposed and sketched Focus Toric by René Descartes in 1636, but in was not until 1887 that the German physiologist Adolf Eugen Fick Focus Toric constructed the first successful contact lens.
Toric lenses
People with astigmatism, both myopic (shortsighted) and hypermetropic (longsighted), Ciba Vision who have been told they are not suitable for regular contact lenses may be able to use Toric lenses. Focus Toric Toric lenses are made from the same materials as regular Focus Toric contact lenses but have a couple Focus Toric of extra characteristics:
- They have two powers in them, one for spherical correction and the other for astigmatism.
- They are weighted to keep the lens in a stable position regardless compare contact lenses of eye movement. Typically, the lens is weighted more at the bottom and is marked by tiny striations so the wearer Focus Toric can insert them in the correct position, or Focus Toric they are designed in such a way that blinking will reset the lens to the correct orientation.
Cleaning and disinfection products Focus Toric contacts.
Contact lenses need regular cleaning and disinfecting in order to retain clear vision and prevent infections. There are a number of products that can be used to perform these important tasks:
- Saline Focus Toric solution - used for rinsing the Focus Toric lens after Ciba Vision cleaning and preparing it Focus Toric for insertion.
- Daily cleaner - Focus Toric used to clean lenses on a daily basis. Usually contactlenzen one puts a few drops of cleaner on the lens and rubs for about 20 Focus Toric seconds (check directions) Focus Toric on each side. One must Focus Toric be extra careful in this Focus Toric step if they have long fingernails.
- Multipurpose solution - used for rinsing, disinfecting, Focus Toric cleaning and storing the lenses. Many people Focus Toric typically only use it for disinfection and storage, relying on other products for rinsing (e.g. saline) and cleaning (e.g. daily cleaner).
- Hydrogen Focus Toric peroxide solution - used for disinfecting the lenses. One must ensure they rinse any lens taken out of hydrogen Focus Toric peroxide with another Focus Toric solution such as saline.
- Enzymatic cleaner - used for Focus Toric cleaning the protein off of lenses, usually on a weekly basis. Typically, this Focus Toric cleaner is in tablet form. Using only the daily cleaner is not sufficient Focus Toric to prevent protein deposits, making the lens very Focus Toric ooglaser uncomfortable and possibly leading to eye damage.

Some products may contain preservatives such as thimerosal. However, about 10% of contact lens wearers have Focus Toric problems with these products, a reason why several brands no longer use it. Such thimerosal-free products are sometimes labelled "for Focus Toric sensitive eyes". Products that Focus Toric do not contain any preservatives usually have shorter expiration dates. For example, non-aerosol preservative-free Focus Toric saline solution typically only last two Focus Toric weeks once opened.
